Fairness & RNG testing

Every result has to be fair and verifiable. Here's how the random number generator behind Quick Pick is tested, and how draw integrity is maintained.

What the RNG does

When you ask for Quick Pick on a lottery ticket, BCLC's central gaming system — the system that registers every ticket and issues its ticket ID — selects your numbers with its random number generator (RNG). A sound RNG produces results that are unpredictable, evenly distributed, and impossible to influence.

The Quick Pick button in our number picker only fills the grid in your browser using its built-in Math.random() function, so you can see a suggested line. It is not a certified generator and has nothing to do with the official draw; the numbers are registered as you see them when you confirm the order.

Unpredictable

Each pick is independent. Past results never change the odds of what comes next.

Evenly distributed

Over many draws, every number has the same chance of being selected. No number is "due".

Tamper-resistant

The generator runs in a controlled environment and can't be nudged by players or staff.

Independent testing

Checked by outside labs

RNGs used for lottery products are generally tested by independent testing laboratories, which run large statistical samples to confirm the output is genuinely random and within accepted tolerances. Typical testing covers:

  • Statistical randomness and uniformity tests
  • Review of the generator and its seeding
  • Re-testing after any material change

This page describes how lottery RNG testing works in general. This portal does not hold a certification of its own and does not claim one: no testing laboratory, certificate or report number is named here because none has been issued to the website. For the certification status of the platform you actually play on, see BCLC and PlayNow.com.

Oversight you can point to

In British Columbia, gaming is conducted and managed by BCLC under the Gaming Control Act (B.C.), with independent oversight from the Independent Gambling Control Office (IGCO). SailyGrandGiveaWay's game rules are coordinated nationally by the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation (ILC).

Draw integrity

The draw itself

Choosing your numbers and drawing the numbers drawn are two separate things. Quick Pick uses the RNG; the official winning numbers are produced under set draw procedures with documented controls and witnesses.

Quick Pick decides the numbers on your line. It does not decide the winning numbers — those come from the official SailyGrandGiveaWay draw, run to the published Game Conditions.
